We are very thankful to Dugald and the staff at Mackenzie Architects. They have created a stunning house for our family. Our block of land had a number of restrictions on it and Dugald were able to work with the restrictions and create a house that looks amazing and is very functional. In fact, they met our brief perfectly. We needed Mackenzie Architects to manage our DA process. They were prompt in answering my queries and managing all the reports needed to complete the process. They found solutions to problems that saved me money. Dugald and John are a pleasure to work with. I really can’t recommend them highly enough.

We chose Dugald and Mackenzie Architects to design our home because they have a good local knowledge of the area, and provided an excellent preliminary design in response to our brief. They produced an impressive, strong design that suited the site well, and which received Council approval, meeting a number of conditions and restrictions. We are delighted with our new family home.

We were told about Dugald and his team at MAI through a family friend. We found that dealing with Dugald and the staff was like being with family who were helping you create your dream. They are all very friendly, helpful and put up with our constant calls and emails in a relaxed manner. Dugald and the staff are confident and knowledgeable and were able to exceed our expectations in what we were hoping to create.

Bachelor of Architecture, Bachelor of Science (Environmental Design)

Hard work and a passion for outstanding architecture got John to where he is today. He’s been with MAI for seven years, after working with HPDR Architects.

Inspired by the late German-American architect Ludwig Mies van der Rohe and American architect Lebbeus Woods, John adopts a modernist design style. “What I like most about MAI is that I can be creative, and collaborate with the team,” John says. When he’s not at work, John can be found fishing, renovating and supporting Sydney’s live music scene.
